I use this collar on my golden retriever and it works better than anything we've tried. I didn't wear a collar for aesthetic reasons alone, so I used all sorts of tick protection methods. The over-the-counter topical gel and the vet-prescribed gel smell horrible and stop working every time it jumps in the water, and the chewable tablets don't work. One guy we tried killed ticks after they bit my dog. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to check for ticks on a hyper 80-pound longhaired Golden?! This collar really keeps ticks from biting my dog. I removed a few ticks from my dog every day and rarely found them on him.
