My daughter's 2013 Chevy Sonic key fob fell apart so I ordered this as a replacement. It works great and the key goes in when it's closed. I watched a few YouTube videos and it helped me put it together. The hardest part is winding the key spring (so the key pops out when you press the release button). Cool Tip: Just make sure you get a keychain body with a keyboard that matches your old one's button configuration. (I made that mistake and bought the wrong key fob, so the remote start and panic didn't work).
