Review on Tecsun PL880 Portable Digital PLL Dual Conversion AM/FM, Longwave & Shortwave Radio with SSB (Single Side Band) Reception - Silver by Jamie Rogers

I have a Sangean ATX-909x AM/MW/FM/SSB/LW radio which I rated 4 stars 2 weeks ago when I bought it! I heard about the Tecsun PL 880 AM/FM/MW/LW/SSB/SW radio on the net and in the test reports of the best portable radios of 2017 and in You Tube videos! My wife Tere Pizarro bought me this radio last week and it arrived yesterday! It came with a nice leather carrying case, rechargeable lithium battery, USB adapter didn't come with a battery. The power supply is 5 volts to charge the battery but I had one at my house and used the battery to charge as it was half full! I used the Tecsun PL 880 last night and used it at the same time as my Grundwig Satellite 750 and Sangean ATX-909x radio to compare the performance between the three units when listening, tuning and tuning the radio. Get weak and strong signals to use radio filters! I was surprised that the Tecsun PL 880 can match the Grundwig Satellite 750 and outperform the Sangean ATX-909x radio, even though this radio is bigger and more expensive! The Grundwig Satellit 750 sounds slightly better than the Tecsun PL880 due to a better bass/treble and noise canceling button, although the Tecsun PL 880 outperformed the Grundwig Satellit 750 on some radios! The Tecsun PL 880 also performed better on the upper SSB sideband with synchronous PPL on HF stations than the Grundwig Satellite 750! The Tecsun PL 880 radio outperformed the Sangean ATX-909x radio in every way, although this radio is a good radio! The Tecsun PL 880 is the best portable radio under $200 in my opinion and I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation! I bought the radio through Revain and it was a great experience!😀😀
