Fits in most overhead storage compartments, but may not fit in small/regional plane compartments. I really appreciate the fact that it can be customized to fit a Canon EF 500 mm F4 IS plus 1-2 bodies and more lenses (smaller) and accessories. It comes with a weatherproof cover. It is pretty good sized, so wearing it as a backpack means you may have trouble squeezing through tight spaces and you may incur unexpected expenses as you knock things over should you walk into a store with it on. My most used camera pack!
