Review on SUNLUG Backpack Cooler: Leakproof Insulated Bag for Picnics, Camping, and Beach Essentials - Large Capacity Holds 40 Cans by Jonathan Waritani

Well insulated cooler bag but cannot be used with ice

I love the concept, design and quality of the SUNLUG Insulated Cooler Backpack. Unfortunately, while the promotional photos in the main compartment show cans and bottles mixed directly with ice cream, the packaging itself bears the following warning message: WARNING. Do not put ice directly into the compartments to avoid piercing the waterproof material. Freezer bags are the recommended method for temperature control. This is a big disappointment because I had planned to use the package exactly as shown in the photos. canned drinks and ice cream. Not drinks and freezer bags. My experience with freezer packs is that they do little to nothing. Much less freezing. Well, that shortcoming aside, the packaging itself is well designed and well constructed. Large capacity size (12 ¼ inch * 7 ¾ inch * 17 ¾ inch L * W * H) perfect for picnics, pool parties or other events. I love that it has comfortable backpack straps as well as a carry handle. Additionally, the compression straps (just like a regular backpack) make it easy to compress the entire pack for storage. Of course, you need to open the top flap and put it down. light enough. See photos for flat and expanded view. Add it all up and you get four stars. Yes, I deducted a star for the unfortunate ice and freezer issue. But overall I like it.
