Review on Hydor H2Show Magic World - Gargoyle and Book Decor Combo Pack by Elizabeth Smith

When I saw the background of Hogwarts Wizarding World I knew immediately I needed a Harry Potter tank! I know these aren't officially licensed Harry Potter products, but it's pretty obvious - especially the background - that that's what Hydor was aiming for with this theme set. We bought a gargoyle and book (Hogwarts: A History, No Doubt, Isn't It?) and an owl in a tree, and a background image for our 16 gallon arched aquarium. The products (gargoyle and book) were delivered unpackaged. However, since they are made of resin, there were no chips. Both pieces had two large balls of dried glue on the bottom which I believe were originally attached in the packaging. It was really difficult to peel off those dried sticky patches (dime sized) from the decor! I put the gargoyle and book in the basin and they look very pretty, especially against the background. The owl decoration is almost 12 inches tall which I didn't realize when ordering; it's too big for a 16 gallon tank so I'll be returning the owl (it's an attractive detail for a larger tank though). ). I chose to omit the crystal ball and stone which was a good choice as the pieces are a good size and the whole set could easily overflow a smaller aquarium. The gargoyle and book are obviously hollow so there are holes so she doesn't swim away sets. Normally the air holes are covered for aesthetic reasons, but I left the air holes slightly above the substrate in the book to provide shelter for our African pygmy frogs. It works out. perfect for this purpose Overall these are good aquarium decor items and perfect for a wizarding or Harry Potter theme (again I realize these are not officially licensed Harry Potter products; they just go well with the Harry Potter theme Theme). I will try to upload a photo showing the Gar. goyle and book on the spot. I can recommend these decorative items.
