Gift value and practical. I wasn't expecting the quality of the negative ions to be what we have in the salon and it isn't (and if you need volume it's still not ideal). I sometimes need extra length (regulatory wattage is too high for that) but it works pretty well given its petite status. Its own cable is long enough. A flat iron will do the whole head in no time, but it's great for bangs and other hard-to-reach areas every day. A base set that won't break the bank and make me cry if it doesn't last for many years (I think those days are over for almost every home appliance in our industry).
