Adequate replacement for the original straps

I bought this strap for my black Skagen men's watch #233XXLSLB, the original straps were starting to break. They look like a reasonable replacement for the original belts and are easy to replace. These straps come with four screws which come in handy if you lose or damage the screws when replacing the strap as the screws are very small. Although the end of the belt with the buckle containing the holes is pointed while the original was straight. EASY TO REPLACE These straps were easy to replace. The clock had four screws (two on each end) that had to be removed. The Watch Technicians straps came with thin holes to align with the screw holes. This made the task of aligning the straps very easy. After inserting the bands into the lugs and lining up the holes on the watch and band, all I had to do was insert the screws. The screw went in easily and they didn't stick out. A small screwdriver was all I needed to change the strap. QUALITY VS. ORIGINAL STRAPS My first impression of this strap was that the original straps were softer (when new) than these. Watch Technicians straps feel a bit stiff but can soften after a while. These straps are labeled as "genuine leather" which although leather is considered to be of very low quality (compared to full grain or premium leather). But for this price I don't expect a fine. leather product. Also the original straps were made from "real leather" but as there is no standard way to make real leather I have a feeling the original straps were of slightly better quality. Also, these straps appear to be two pieces attached together. Leather, like the original belts. My original strap failed because the leather pieces weren't sewn together. So I wouldn't be surprised if this group fails too.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Generally OK but...
