Review on UAC HA 11153C Refrigerant Discharge by Obhed Mac

Questionable quality control - hose leaking - not recommended.

UPDATE 9/1/2016: After installing this hose I was leaking refrigerant very slowly - about half a pound every few months. I filled the system with paint and traced the leak to this hose. Leaks at a point where the metal fitting of the rubber hose connects to the smaller diameter metal hose. Because of this leak and the headache of having to evacuate, replace and refill the hose again, I cannot recommend taking a risk with this hose. The Comfort Auto salesman was very understanding and agreed to exchange the defective hose for refrigerant cans which I could use when fitting the new stock hose. Excellent seller! First review: This replaced a leaking old one that was making a mess on the right side of the engine on a 2008 Mazda 3. It appears to be a well-made line and there are no leaks so far. The hose was Goodyear Galaxy. Before recharging, the system held a vacuum. The price is amazing! A few hints and helpful tips: 1. Do not use the supplied O-rings. They are slightly thicker than the OEM line and don't seem to shrink fully when tightened. There are several inexpensive Mazda 3 A/C o-ring kits that you can get cheap and I ended up using the o-rings from this one which fit perfectly. The bend in the metal line near the connection to the compressor was not exactly the same as the OEM line. It will still fit with no problems, but make sure the foam protector on this section of hose is whole so the metal doesn't rub against the other metal line on the A/C.3. Be sure to place the foam pieces on the correct parts of the hose to avoid chafing etc. If I have any problems with this hose I will definitely report it.

Pros
  • Not just useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Infinitely slow
