No tools required.: Replacement parts

Okay, you need 1 tool, a flathead screwdriver, to remove the hose clamp. Insert each section of hose into the metal tube with clamps, twisting back and forth several times to loosen the inner clamp retainers. Press the outer tabs against the metal tube with your thumb and forefinger while leaving the hose inserted in the metal tube. Then pull the hose off with your other hand. I did the same with another hose. Motorcraft KH-451 HVAC heater hose assembly. I removed and installed both hoses in less than 30 minutes including the extension which also needs to be removed. how did i do it Take 2 index fingers and look for the outer tabs, they are right next to the firewall. With your palms on either side of the hose extension, press your palms together and push the extension inward, but not too hard as the heater core is on the other side. Now pinch both tabs with your index fingers and use your other fingers and thumb to slide the extension while holding the tabs down. It may take a few tries, but you can do it! The flat head was also used to pry off the inner clamp retainers on the old clamps as they stay on the metal tube when you disconnect the old hose. They must be removed. Take the clamps off the new hose and fit them onto the metal pipe, then once installed, simply line them up, snap them in and away you go! Much luck. I hope this helps as it really was that simple.
