To be honest I was afraid to try it but the calluses on my feet were getting so bad and they were 'on sale' so I had to to attempt. Opening the liquids and getting on my feet was a little difficult. I sat on the edge of the tub in case something spilled or leaked. I was very careful and used little stickers to attach them to my legs. I still felt like the part that rises above the ankle could be a little lower - I was afraid the liquid would spill so I slipped a pair of old socks over them to keep the pockets secure. I then GENTLY got onto the couch and sat up straight with my feet on the floor for the entire 90 minutes. You obviously can't lift your legs or the liquid will 100% leak out. The liquid also smells strongly of chemicals. That's it. I think I threw the socks away afterwards because even after washing them I still smelled a faint chemical odor. So after 90 minutes, I carefully returned to the bathroom and took off my slippers, then rinsed my feet thoroughly. Nothing hurt, everything was fine. According to the instructions, it takes 7 days for the skin to peel off. That's something I experienced too, but around day two I started seeing and feeling that the skin was different. My feet were very dry (as they should be. The skin is dead) and it almost felt like walking barefoot and stepping on a piece of plastic stuck to my foot. It's weird but not painful or uncomfortable. On day 5, I checked my feet carefully for flaking at every opportunity. Unfortunately nothing until the 7th day, BUT, that's when it all started. It started with a crackling in the cracks - between the fingers and in the lines on the soles of the feet. The instructions emphasize that you cannot rip the skin off, you must let it peel off naturally. I agree. You CAN really start pulling, but I've seen you get carried away and rip off skin that wasn't ready yet. Impatient as I am, I ignored the instructions and drew anyway. It didn't hurt either, it was oddly satisfying (although I wouldn't recommend doing it in front of other people because - phew). The skin underneath was SO soft and new. Literally like baby skin. Wonderful. It ended up taking about a week for most of the old skin to peel off. What I didn't take into account was how well my feet were protected by old calluses. Without an additional protective barrier, I could feel EVERYTHING. I have hardwood floors throughout my house, and I can tell you that walking around without an extra pillow was quite painful for the first day or two. I don't think carpet is that bad. I've either gotten used to it, or a tiny layer of new callus has formed, or I really shouldn't have pulled before, but then the discomfort goes away and I have nice, shiny, soft feet! It's been a few weeks now and my feet are still healthy and soft! I think I'll be using this product twice a year - at the end of winter and at the end of summer - while it's on sale. The regular price was around $50-$60, but I only paid around $10-$12. I don't know if I would have paid a higher price but for the retail price it's totally worth it!
