Review on Soundbar Subwoofer Wireless Bluetooth Mountable by Michael Radhakrishnan

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Ok guys, let's have a real conversation - please read on.

Before I start this review, I would like you to remember one important variable – the price of this soundbar! Now that price is ingrained in our mindset, let's move on to what many of us are (or have been hoping for), this soundbar. Above all, the sound quality is the reason why many of us buy these soundbars. and let's face it, these Chinese manufacturers make a lot of them, and often they are clones of other models on the market. For reference, we have an old (but exceptionally good) 59-inch Samsung Plasma TV that we bought about 12 years ago. The sound quality is terrible - more like an old-time AM radio. I have a special soundbase that we bought about 6 years ago (model ZVOX) that we use for watching movies because of the superior sound capabilities of this unit, but we don't use it for everyday TV scenarios. Over time, we realized we needed something that would allow us to listen to everyday TV scripts (and distinguish voices - along with better sound, etc.). Let's be honest, there are many options for a soundbar or soundbase from $39.95 to $3000, but first of all it all depends on how much you want to spend, but more on what sound quality standards you have on the soundbar, which is only $79.95 cost $. Okay I thought how good is this soundbar for this very low price? I was so hoping to be pleasantly surprised. When it arrived it was very easy to set up. We used optical inputs to connect, and its small (thin) size was perfect for what we envisioned. I was starting to worry because the build quality of this unit is actually very good (again, consider the price of this soundbar). Now to the heart of the matter - sound quality. Remember I used to be a high end audiophile and invested thousands in high quality audio gear many years ago. Those days are gone, but my demands for sound quality haven't diminished. I ran a range of sound tests on this soundbar, from regular TV scripts to Blue Ray Disk recording to HD video streaming from NetFlix and Revain Prime. And damn, I was disappointed! The only benefit of this soundbar is that the speakers are front-firing, making voices easier to understand, but the overall sound quality isn't much better than cheap built-in speakers. At first I thought I must have done something wrong how I connected them, but no, everything was fine and the optical input is usually the best way to connect such devices (even some more expensive devices used). optical cables I had for this). For movies with exceptional audio content, the only differences I could hear were a slight (and I mean marginal) improvement in treble and slightly less bass. more details (and we're talking about little things here) than built-in speakers. In terms of fidelity, the quality of this soundbar still rivals the everyday built-in speakers that come with various vintage TVs - too bad! So in the end my search continues and what a disappointment this soundbar is. The manufacturer's claims and advertising imply that we can expect a noticeable improvement in soundstage, sound quality and more. But unfortunately it is not. Going back to reading the various customer reviews on this device, I realized that everyone has different standards for how it should sound. But for the price, one would expect a significant (if imperceptible) improvement in overall sound quality. I'm going to give this soundbar to my grandson and I think it's a bad investment. But at the same time I understand that in most cases the old adage "you get what you pay for" really applies here. Now I understand that I have to pay more to get something better. Thanks for listening (I'm reading that wrong). Ben Herrmann Fukuei Varina, North Carolina.
