Very impressed with this system!

This mini soundbar from Definitive Technology Studio 3D is not "mini" at all. It produces really great sound and has greatly improved the sound quality when watching TV. Includes soundbar, subwoofer, two power cords, optical audio cable, HDMI cable, remote control with batteries, wall brackets and instructions. The soundbar is compact and measures 26.5 inches wide at the rear, 21.5 inches at the front and 2 inches high. At 4.6 pounds, the soundbar weighs a little more than some of the other small soundbars I've had. The subwoofer enclosure is quite large, measuring nearly 13 inches square and about 14 inches high. In addition to a separate subwoofer, the soundbar has six built-in speakers. There are four Racetrack speakers: two front-facing and two slanted on the sides. There are also two tweeters on the front. Installation was easy and straightforward. The soundbar connects to your TV using either the supplied optical audio cable or the supplied HDMI ARC (eARC) cable. An HDMI ARC connection is preferred, but both deliver excellent results. The installation consists of placing and connecting the subwoofer. The soundbar connects to the TV via an HDMI ARC or optical connection and plugs into the bar's power cable. I have a newer Smart TV, so once both were on, my TV recognized the soundbar and automatically switched the audio to the soundbar. The soundbar can be wall mounted using the supplied mounting template, wall brackets and wall anchors. The soundbar is controlled either via the remote control or via the soundbar. There is an app (HEOS) that connects to the soundbar via a mobile device. The application is required to update the firmware. It seems to me that the app is used to seamlessly route music streaming services to the soundbar, but I don't know to what extent the app can control the soundbar. The app connects to multiple sound systems around the home if they're able to, and streams music to one or more devices simultaneously. The strength of the HEOS app is its ability to connect to streaming services that you have accounts with and play that music on the soundbar. As I don't stream music I have no intention of using this app other than to update the firmware. However, I love that I can stream from my mobile devices to the soundbar via Bluetooth when I might need to play audio. The soundbar has indicators that light up when certain actions are performed or indicate certain actions. Status. The indicator lights are easy to see. At the top of the panel are control buttons that control power, volume, and input source. I'm really impressed with the audio output. There is clarity across a wide range of tones, and the sound remains clear even at high volume settings. The 3D surround sound technology is efficient and creates an immersive sound experience. The subwoofer really delivers bass. The bass level can be adjusted via the remote control. Several pre-programmed audio modes are available, such as B. the cinema mode or the music mode, which can be selected to adjust the output to optimize the sound. There is a dialog setting designed to improve the clarity of the voices in the audio output. This is useful when there is a program with a lot of background music or sound effects that drown out dialogue. This setting really improved the clarity of the voice.

Pros
  • WE HEAR BUT DO NOT SEE. This modern and quiet 2" soundbar stays invisible until you hear the massive boom with its (4) 1" x 3" track drivers (two front, two side) and (2) 1" tweeters for dynamics and detail Tone
Cons
  • Periodicity
