I first bought a Sangean W-15 for the kitchen, but sent it back because of a defective speaker and disappointing sound. I then tried the Tivoli 1 and found it to be inferior with poorer reception. Now I've hit the jackpot. I really love this radio! Stereo sound with subwoofer is excellent and has many extras: separate treble and bass controls with clicks indicating a 'flat' setting not even mentioned in the manual; small manually adjustable markers to mark your 3 favorite watch face positions. The reception is very good even without an external antenna, but since I'm in a weak reception area, I use an external one. And for complex stereo FM stations, you can switch to mono! I haven't tried AM or Bluetooth because I won't be using either. Since I'm interested in classical music and have an excellent stereo system in my living room, my hearing is very, very critical. Highly recommended!
