Used for its intended purpose. After several months of use - even at the set temperature. This heater failed and heated my tank up to 63-92 degrees killing my whole tank. Without warning. When I unplugged the heater, it didn't display any errors and didn't show any signs of malfunction. I don't have a return window. Very upset and disappointed. So far I am delighted with this heater. I have since plugged the heater back in and it seems to be working properly again. I don't know how to trust this product in the future. Now I have no money for my fish, heating and replacement. I see that the instructions say it turns off automatically at 94 degrees. Unfortunately (not shockingly) my fish couldn't take it.
