I use it every day: lamps and lampshades
My eyesight has gotten a bit worse with age and with the bright LEDs in this thing it's much easier to see fine details on the IC and I can see the ribbons read on the resistors again. Additionally, you can lift the protective cover and there's a nice big clear magnifying glass to make it even easier. My only complaint is that I have to flex my gooseneck to bring the light closer to the desk and it gets a little unbalanced and tips over if I'm not careful.
