Review on 🌹 Rosewater & Jasmine Dusting Powder by Greenwich Bay Trading Co. - 4 Ounce by Sarah Green

Irresistible Soapy No Thanks

2 stars as smell is subjective. I chose this powder based on reviews that claimed it smelled like "real rose" and had a "soft, soft fragrance." judging by my nose it couldn't be further from the truth. It arrived in a plastic envelope and I could smell it even before I opened it. It was also shrink wrapped on the inside. The smell is downright overwhelming. I got this as a stocking stuffer for myself so my little one can see that mom got something from Santa. I almost put the box in my open storage box because I couldn't stand it. It ended up on my closet for the longest 2 weeks of my life. There is a bit of rose in the scent but in a very artificial scented candle. This is an extremely pungent blend of florals, sweetness and bitterness that is impossible to shake (remember the packaging is still sealed). It also smells like jasmine; cloyingly sweet, but bitter and soapy. The box is cute, but it's just a piece of cardboard. never mind Down is not what I picture when I think of a body pouffe. I envision a fluffy pouf with deep, fine fibers that really hold powder and help smooth it out. It's actually a piece about half an inch thick. cheap faux fur with short fibers that don't hold powder very well and no loop to hold pouf. The smell reminds me of those little mixed bath sets with strong scents that came in long rectangular boxes in the early 80's and smelled like grandma's bathroom. I can't say anything specific about the feel of powder and how long the scent lasts as I won't be touching it. I have sensitive skin and have had sinus problems and hives that started a few days after I brought things into my house. My educated guess is that the scent will last all day considering the sealed box keeps the scent in my closet. (and the fabric of the clothes inside) which I still can't get rid of. If you're looking for a rose scent, I wouldn't order this one. If you're looking for an inexpensive powder with a strong, long-lasting scent and enjoy the nostalgic scent of Grandma's soaps and bath products, this might be the powder for you. For me, it's more of a soap or a heavily scented candle than a scented powder. Everyone has a different taste in fragrances. a smell I'd forgive a puff and a box and think it's a worthy deal. I returned this product and purchased Camille Beckman's Tuscan Honey Body Powder which I find has a warm, pleasant scent that is not overpowering.
