I got this to transfer music from my keyboard to mp3 on my computer. I had a big learning curve. It transfers beautifully, but you need transfer software. Don't worry, you can find free software depending on what you want to use it for. But let me tell you, do you use it for my piano? After translating it sounds like I'm actually playing! 10 feet long is long enough to plug into the back of a keyboard and connect to my computer.
