Review on Ancra 40888-28 Green 66-inch Original Tiedowns: Secure Your Cargo with Reliable Green Tie-Downs by Adam Rossi

In my humble opinion, Ancra belts still rule!

After decades of hauling motorcycles, balloons and kayaks, my old Ancra straps were really starting to wear out. Hot sun, rain and low temperatures - that's where the old people "lived" for a long time. When it came time to replace them, the Ancra was the only strap I considered. So far I have not been disappointed with these new tapes. Now used exclusively on my fishing kayaks, which weigh no more than 80 pounds fully loaded, these straps have been working flawlessly for a number of months. Just put them on, tighten them (within reason) and they will hold until you let go at the end of the trip. Quite easy. It is actually quite simple. I will never hesitate to buy Ancra straps again. I've been using them for decades, so why choose another brand? You pay a little more for Ancras compared to other brands, but that small difference for a brand I have a lot of experience with just doesn't justify me buying anything else. Oh, would I use the same straps to hold my adventure bike that's 10 times the weight of my kayak? Absolutely. I'm not afraid these straps will hold anything I'll ever need to attach to the back of my truck. I have great confidence in these heavy straps. I have already recommended these straps to several of my kayaking friends. I shudder when I see how they use ratchet straps to hold pliable and flexible plastic boats. You don't have to tie down a kayak as tightly as you would, say, logs! These straps should hold just about anything a homeowner might throw at them, within reason of course. Common sense still plays a major role in our day and age. :-)
