Previous reviews describe the challenges of connecting the rods. I took a wire brush to the threads and applied some penetrating which made the task so much easier.The stinging of the pulleys was also easy for me because I watched several videos, studied the instructions and visualized what needed to be done.The material is quality and everything was easy to install. Only downside were the screws supplied for the pulleys had heads that were too small and beveled to securely hold the assembly.

Works and looks like new even after one summer of use. Installation was a little tricky for me but my 17 year old son didn't know why I had issues. We have it on our porch that is faces the west and there is no shade all afternoon. It works like it should and provides a break from the sun, it even feels cooler when we put it down or leave it down all day on that side of the porch. I might purchase another one for the other side.

I love the shades but the rods are not easy at all to connect. The threads just don’t match up and I tried using Vaseline as lubricant, but ended up using pliers and gripper pads to attach them together….very frustrating!While putting together the 3rd shade I found it easier when I sprayed them with WD40 but still difficult. Used the Tang Roll up Sunshade to keep the afternoon sun away from my back sliding glass door. Before, the hot summer sun would hit the west facing side of the house, heating up the kitchen and dining rooms uncomfortably.After putting up this sunshade, the difference was felt immediately. My husband and son put it up in less than 25 minutes.

Really like the quality of this sunshade and the way it looks on back deck. I should have had a photo ready. It will take some know-how on installing this though. Only caveat was the diagram is incorrect when showing how to run the string around the pulley system. The arrows indicating the string direction for the right side pulley are going the wrong way on the diagram. When stringing this up, reverse the direction shown for the right side pulley.

These were pretty easy to install. The 2nd one I hung in a snap. The 1st one was a small learning curve. But still- easy install, all parts were included. Just need a drill.We love the look. The grey color is perfect to match our grey barnwood shiplap panels inside the porch. Helps filter light to keep the hot Texas sun out some.

These ended up not being the best size for us, but we were so impressed with how they were made that we wanted to write a review. The packaging, manufacturing and way they were shipped were professional. We had our doubts that they would roll up well, but they did.They aren't very sheer, but provide good shade. As the packaging says, the box may be smaller than the width you order, but be sure to look inside. The rods they use screw together, so they can be smaller than your width.

We got this for our pergola which faces west. It blocks the late afternoon sun beautifully! It was pretty easy to install and the instructions are well written. I will say that an extra set of hands is very helpful but one person can manage if necessary. We’ve only had it up for about a week but the fabric and construction appear to be very durable and it looks great!

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing these. The main reason I bought them is because they had hard to find standard sizes that fit our screen porch. Okay Im going to be honest here, they were at first a little hard to assemble and install. Nice product, somewhat easy to install with few exceptions.Instructions were not real clear, Installing cleat and tie down reference fig 18, there is NO fig 18!When putting rods together, take your time, if it seems to hang while tightening, unscrew it a bit then tighten.It helped to remove one end of rod to easily slide them through fabric material.I did have to cut one rod and it was easy, just cut off the rod, I used a plastic screw holder (molly) that you would use to screw into a wall.I…

The fabric is thin and flaps in the wind. It's not durable. The shade does not look finished with it's jagged sides. It is easy to install. It does block out the sun's rays.

We have so much sun coming in on our front porch and this solved the problem! Installation was easy, it looks great, it’s easy to use, and we’re finally able to sit and enjoy the outdoors without the sun beaming down on us. We’re so happy! I purchased the rolling shade without taking proper measurements. It was too small for the area I wanted to cover. It is made with a beautiful material. I do recommend it. Needed afternoon shade on the west side of my pergola. Quality "okay”, edges could have been finished better, as they look a bit ragged. Inconsistent neat roll when raising. The shading works just fine and was what I required. Nice pale gray color looks great with the dark gray house and white vinyl pergola.

They block the sun in the afternoon from entering our glass sliding doors. Keeps the family room much cooler. That's my feedback.

I’m very pleased with this shade. I bought it because my front porch gets the afternoon sun, making it uncomfortable to sit there on sunny days. It blocks enough light that I can enjoy my porch, but it doesn’t block everything, which is what I wanted. It appears to made of good-quality materials, so I expect it to last for a while. The two little bungee cords provided are important, since it will catch wind like a sail. Overall, very happy with my purchase.

I purchased 2 of the same shades as I needed them to cover my patio that is split. I received 2 shades that appeared very similar, but with noticeable differences. It would be something if these were not next to each other, but they are. One came with everything in the stock photo for hardware.
