Kate Spade Birch Way Fine China is manufactured by Lenox. This 5 piece set for one is an attractive and beautifully crafted set that is still made in the USA today. Whilst it has a modern look it incorporates traditional elements from other Lenox sets including a large dinner plate, salad plate, bread/butter plate, cup and saucer. The parts appear to be 24k gold although I don't see that in the description. Some of the items I have received have a blue ink dot on the bottom which means it is genuine Lenox china. Featuring a bright white background and floral design, this Birch Way pattern alternates patterns with similar designs between five parts. They complement each other perfectly, but don't exactly fit together. The two pieces have more subtle floral details that mainly contrast in soft pinks, greys, and darker greens, while the three pieces have similar details but also have larger and richer dark greens and blue leaves. While the design is rather feminine, the larger green and blue leaves keep the design from looking too delicate and delicate. Anyone who loves floral motifs should like this drawing. The floral backdrop set against a white backdrop has a light and airy feel, making Birch Way perfect for spring and summer fun. However, the addition of deeper greens and blues makes this a pattern I can use year-round as well, especially as I live in sunny Southern California and the seasonal changes are mild. Also, my dining room overlooks a backyard with lots of foliage, so it blends in with my surroundings. This pattern is versatile in the sense that it's elegant enough for a late night dinner party, yet has a fresh look that's just as lovely for a Sunday brunch. Birch Way is a more modern and casual design than many other patterns. It is not stuffy and not so trendy that it can only be used for entertainment. I don't wear Lenox china every day, but I use it often even if it's not a special occasion because it's too beautiful to just put away and brightens up my day. They are dishwasher safe and durable enough for regular use. Kate Spade Birch Way is a fresh and cute pattern that would make a wonderful gift or registry pattern. I love it. 5 Stars.
