I have been using this device for several weeks. Last night I accidentally put my SD card in the device upside down. I've been using micro SD cards for almost a decade and have inserted many cards upside down in many devices. In most cases, the card simply does not fit or is otherwise rejected by the reader/writer. This adapter blocked my SD card. When I tried to remove my card it broke in half. Half of the card was left in the now-defunct adapter, and half of the card went in the trash. I had several hours of video recorded on this card that now needs to be played. Even before this accident I had problems with the correct insertion. The device seemed to read maps well. I've never tried writing to an SD card. I probably only used it 5 or 6 times before it crashed. I wouldn't recommend this reader unless they reconsider the insertion mechanics.
