I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the leather and the workmanship. These things should be fairly densely packed and not have too much porosity. It is best to pack them in rolled up blankets or other heavy, dense material. I think you want these things to end up being pretty tight and heavy. I used 5 pounds of shredded memory foam and then the last thing I put in was two old square pillows that fit the square perfectly. This helped compress the shredded styrofoam at the top and added weight at the bottom - it worked really well. The top can be too soft. I don't think bean bag beads would be the way to go. Too light and not compressible. Nice item for a footstool / ottoman.
