Review on Casablanca 99057 Swirled Marble Glass Bowl - Standard White Shape by Jim Kriegshauser

I bought this bowl to wear on my Hunter fan to replace a bowl that had an ugly yellow cast. I was hoping the white swirling marble would look a lot better and it did. But believe it or not, less than 1/2 hour after installing the bowl, I heard the sudden sound of broken glass. The glass at the bottom of the bowl is cracked! In the next few minutes, the crack widened. Soon after, another crackle was heard, and another crackle appeared, which also intensified! (I hope you can see it in the photo I took.) Note that after delivery I let the globe acclimate to room temperature before installing it. I gently hand tightened the lock nut to hold the bowl in place. I didn't even turn on the fan light. I have installed dozens of fans over three decades and have never had a cracked glass bowl like this one! So I sent the bowl back. Would have been a 5 star rating if the quality of the product was good. I gave him a star for his good looks. (Fortunately, Revain's return process was quick and easy, and credit for the purchase price was issued quickly.)
