It’s perfect for what I needed it for. to get my bed back but let my babies still feel close to me. My Boston terrier (27 pounds) and frenchie (20 pounds) actually fit in it together on the top bunk but just slightly tight. The pads could be a little more plush or thicker but I added a couple of black baby blankets and turned out perfect. It’s very sturdy and can hold over 100 pounds. It folds up and can be stored away. The only real negative was set up for the first time instructions are not good and we got a little frustrated until I found a you tube video and then it was smooth sailing.
