Wow! Am I glad I have them. Turns on instantly, lasts 18 seconds (or longer if you're still moving), and is a good shape and size. At first I asked them to put one in the pantry and one on the stairs in the basement, but many other places in our new house have now occurred to me. Garage stairs, closet in hallway, dark closets inside. No hands required! They glow enough to light up the dark, not enough to light up a room, enough to keep you from tripping and falling. Although I've only had them for a month I don't know how long they will last but with LED lights and an 18 second timer I think they will last. My only suggestion would be to not make the mounting tape as permanent (or provide extra tape?) as that position may not be ideal. Consumers are encouraged to test these with paint or tape the ends to see where you get the best lighting position.
