For the attached photos, I just wanted some volume around the butt, so I kept the long hair closer to the butt and used very small strands. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to making a lot of these hair things. These automatic settings have helped me a lot to pretend I know what I'm doing. I also have the wireless style, but I don't feel like you get the same level of control or transparency over what you're doing as you do with this wand. It works - and you really do have the ability to play around with it to get the look you want.
