Review on πŸ”§ Effortless Brake Piston Removal with OTC 4799 Locking Pliers - A Must-Have Automotive Tool! by Vinay Mickel

Revainrating 3 out of 5

But they worked. fits tools and equipment

They work. You pull out the pistons. But you can mess up the inside of the flask a bit. What isn't really a problem is the side of the piston that doesn't slide over the seal. But still. I didn't want to reuse some of the flasks after getting them out with these. So I bought a new set of pistons. Now if they had better grip and didn't mess up the pistons I would give them 5 stars. But I gave them 3 stars because if you get a good grip on the plunger they come out of the plunger as you twist and turn. A piston did not come out at all. I had to use a vise when I came out a little. That piston was awful and its seal was so awful. It's not the pliers' fault I couldn't get them out. After all, they work. You can damage the side of the piston, which doesn't matter in the end. But they work. Also, be patient when using them. Use canned white lithium grease or WD 40, spray all over and in the caliper holes to make it easier. Clean the calipers completely with a chock when everything is disassembled.
