I ordered this crockery because I was looking for something new after my kitchen renovation. I liked their look and because they are made of melamine they are light. That's a plus point for me, because my old porcelain stoneware has become too heavy for me. At least one reviewer complained that the utensils were plastic. I suspect they didn't know what melamine wanted. For many this would be a disadvantage, but I found it a plus; not only because it is light, but also because it is almost impossible to destroy. If you are looking for simply beautiful everyday dishes, this is a winner. Can't rate durability as I haven't used it long enough. I can imagine the only downside on that front is the design wear and tear. I will update this review when this happens.
