When I ordered I didn't know that these plates are not ceramic and ceramic so I was surprised to receive this plastic tableware. I think I should have looked for melamine! This is a type of plastic that should not be used in the microwave but is otherwise safe for serving food. The entire kit together weighs just over 5.5 pounds. It's light weight makes it a great alternative to paper plates for a picnic or garden.

Bought this set because of the nice design. Received today and was disappointed when I opened the box and saw that there were some quality control issues. All 4 large panels have spots/spots in the white areas that look like streaks. All 4 bowls have a painted white line around the inside bottom rim that looks like "painting". There are also some differences in the thickness of the panels, so they don't match perfectly. But the design is beautiful. . .

I ordered this crockery because I was looking for something new after my kitchen renovation. I liked their look and because they are made of melamine they are light.
