Review on Travel In Style And Durability With Rockland Impact Softside Spinner Luggage Set In Burgundy - 4-Piece Collection (18/22/26/30) by Lauralee Sabelman

Disappointing good for me

When you consider that (split between the 4 pieces of luggage) I paid about $37 each, I can't be mad at the set. The spinners are all but useless now and I've only used 3 of the 4 pieces (the largest has yet to be used) about 4 times in the last 3 years since I purchased them in 2015. The largest piece has yet to be used but even if I did, I would need to have the zipper sewn back into the suitcase. I noticed that it came undone and so there's essentially a hole in the luggage at the bottom where it zips. I've taken the carry-on with me as well as the next 2 sizes and they have put up with being tossed around by baggage handlers but the wheels are definitely not up for the task of traveling. They have become "stuck" and will only glide on all 4 wheels in specific directions. When traveling alone in England last year and Japan earlier this year, I had the most difficult time trying to get my baggage from one train to the other without straining. Trying to travel solo with a carry-on and one 26" suitcase when neither one has spinners that are working properly over uneven and changing street surfaces makes for a less than stellar traveling experience. The set has a 5-year limited warranty through Rockland, but looking into the company's website, it seems like there's too much grey area for them to deny a claim. And I don't want to fill out the warranty claim form and pay to ship the defective luggage only to find out they deny the claim. I wanted to see if I could order replacement spinners from the website so I could ensure they fit my luggage to see if that would salvage my feelings for them, but there was nothing. So I'd rather just get rid of them and buy a set that has better quality. I know this set would still be fine for light travel or overnight but for what I wanted, this just won't do. Love the color (green is my favorite) but I'd rather get a luggage cover that's green and use it to help me identify my great luggage than buy another set of these and try to lug them around the world. No Thank you

Pros
  • Multi-directional spinner wheels
Cons
  • The set might be too heavy for some travelers to handle.
