Waterproof lining Very thick and soft mat. I don't like the waterproof mattress pad I used to have because it makes noise when the baby moves on the bed. There is no problem for that. The top layer is made of breathable cotton fabric that is warm to the touch. It also has a non-slip backing to keep the pillow in place. 27" x 38" larger than a Pack n Play and smaller than a crib.
