We installed it in the room where we store the trays. We have 3 cats and they can make a big mess, so having this dispenser on the wall right where I need it most is very convenient. However, it really doesn't take up that much space and is well worth the small space investment to have it where we need it. It distributes perforated sheets, making it quick and easy to grab multiple sheets when you need them. It does not require batteries. This is a simple system that should last a long time.
