Still running the i7-3770K in depth and wanted to get some more out of it. I bought this to remove the cover. Although it doesn't say it in the title, I can confirm that it works great with 1155 Ivy Bridge Core i5 and i7 processors. Please do not attempt to remove the Sandy Bridge CPU cover, these are soldered. I'm also not sure if Intel ever stopped soldering the Xeon IHS, but I won't investigate. The guide is full of Chinglish, but it's easy to figure out. Be careful and you will be fine. It's not as delicate as brain surgery or rocket science, but don't treat it like a tooth extraction, either. Check out a youtube video or two, these kits are all the same. I've never done this before, and all of my Ivy Bridge-era CPUs were taken out of the cases and put back together in one weekend. Other Things You'll Need: A conformal silicone coating if you plan on applying liquid metal between IHSs. and stamp. RTV or similar black auto seal maker if you want to close the lid properly. A good thermal compound like Kyronaut or NT-H1 when you're done.
