If you are skeptical READ MY REVIEW! I was too! About smell, texture, etc. I live in 600 square meters. feet. The apartment is in New York, so it is important to keep the tray clean. I also have an 18lb senior cat - he is quite a large (tall and wide) cat. I have a large tray with a lid. I've tried "Unscented" Tidy Cat before and it was awful - very little filler and unrelated to the smell. I wasn't sure if other unscented cat litter would work, let alone one made out of TOFU, but I haven't noticed the smell of cat poo at all since I switched over a week ago. I usually do a full replacement and cleaning after 1 week due to the smell. I'll go a few more days and see what happens. The putty clumps together and is easy to remove. I haven't tried flushing (not old New York plumbers!) but they say it's possible. I was also concerned that the texture of this litter would irritate my cat, but he didn't complain (i.e. left the poop near his box). He also spends less time there after he has finished his business. I think it's because the litter is too big to get stuck in his paws. I used to think he just stayed there and scratched the box to annoy me, but now I know it was actually about getting the junk out of his paws. :( My cat is an older guy and has trouble grooming himself. I mention this because his cleaning area is pretty much anywhere his little head can turn or reach with his front paws. Since this litter has no smell, mine Cat no longer smells like febrile kitty litter. It also doesn't smell like a dirty tray. I suppose the charcoal helps seal in the smell.
