Review on 🔋 Efficient Yaesu CD-41 Desk Rapid Charger for VX-8DR & VX-8GR HandHeld Radios by Michael Baird

There are some negative reviews on this product indicating DESIGN flaws. I agree that these shortcomings should be addressed. Yaesu is known for high quality products. Their prices reflect this. When purchasing OEM items at OEM retail prices, the product is expected to be free from defects. A NOTICE. This charger does NOT come with a mains transformer. You will also need a Yaesu SAD-25B. However, this charger is perfect for my FT3DR. It's heavy and won't tip over or slide around the table like Baofeng's $12 disposable charger. I only charge the radio when it's off. I only charge the battery when the radio is connected. When the battery is empty, I switch off the radio and plug it into the charger. The LED charge indicator is great. RED for charging, Green for charging. DO NOT touch the battery's magic gold contacts. Even if the device is disconnected from the mains, a static discharge when touching the gold contacts can destroy the internal circuitry. I already knew how delicate this otherwise resilient device is, so I don't touch the contacts. I leave it on the counter and put my radio on the base when it needs charging. It works great for me (so far).
