Review on Crane 13165 Riten Brass Bell by Jesse Gray

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This bell is top notch.

This bell is top notch. Sturdy steel and brass construction, louder than most, long chime in both directions, adjustable clip for small and large handlebars. difficult conditions. If you bought that carbon fiber mount to drop .05 ounces, this bell may not be for you. Take a plastic electronic ringer emulator. Lightweight cheap disposable. Weak metal clip. Yes, I put a piece of rubber tubing between it and the steering wheel. Problem solved. Better than the crappy plastic clips I had on my phone holder that broke the first time I crossed the train tracks at high speed. Done, it's polished brass. Brass will weather if not polished from time to time like the rest of the bike. I buffed mine and some jewelers polished them when I got them and sealed them with automotive aluminum wheel sealant. Maybe that's an exaggeration, but the problem is solved. It's frustrating when mass produced buyers can't tell a quality product when they see it and this call is the best thing I've bought from the endless frustrations at Revain.

Pros
  • BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE DESIGN: Looks elegant and refined on city and traditional road bikes. The metal structure is much stronger than bells with plastic clasps and hammers. Easy on the ears than a bicycle horn.
Cons
  • Fading
