Basic torque wrench

I wanted a basic torque wrench in my tool arsenal, not that I need it often, but when you need it. Spending over 200€ for one of the well-known brands would not be worthwhile for occasional use, so I ordered this tool from the Aiourx brand. It comes in a "flexible plastic" case that also includes a 3/8" adapter and a 5" extension. The accompanying instructions, as is usual these days, were printed on flimsy paper and difficult to read, with useful information hidden between standard warnings and irrelevant text. Lock the mechanism with a lock nut. Then tighten whatever you're working on and the wrench will click to let you know when the desired torque is reached. One side of the handle has a lb/ft scale and the other side has a Newton scale. I found the caption a little difficult to read, but it's definitely doable. My first impression was that it is a bit crudely made and reminds me of a Harbor Freight Level instrument which I think is worth the price. For easy cleaning and maintenance, I would have preferred the chrome finish to the black finish. I can't speak for accuracy as I don't have another torque wrench, but I'll see if I can test it with another tool and let you know.

Pros
  • Torque wrench
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
