Magnets are a good idea. However, they are extremely weak, so even a small adjustment in the position of the screens can cause the screen to partially fall off. Also, the quality of the seams and seams on the tubes that hold the magnets is very poor. I fixed this by buying rare earth magnets with double-sided adhesive and attaching them to the black side of the screens, reflective side out. Luckily the screens are big enough that if I ever have to use the black side there is enough material on the added magnets to make a slight crease to prevent metal to metal contact and possible scratches on the painted window frames. Overall, the addition of stronger magnets has significantly doubled the cost of these screens, so it's not the best value for what you get straight out of the box.
