Review on VESA Mounting Kit by Amer by Alec Winsor

Couldn't find an Apple mount and needed to install a monitor to work from home so I bought this. Installation could have been very easy, but I think the downside was the 4x12 center screw, which was actually a very cheap short screw that didn't work at all even before trying to install it. At first I couldn't build this build (nothing fitted) but I'm an engineer so I was determined to make it work. I read some previous reviews and made two changes: removed the plastic strips protecting the back from scratches and used very thick cardboard to support the mount enough for the hex screws to fit. With them, I was able to assemble and install by lowering the center screw (hex head screws provided adequate strength and reliability). I give this one a 2/3 for being so complex and poorly made but in the end I still use it as there really is no alternative and it worked enough with these mods.
