My primary monitor was an old ASUS 2K 144Hz monitor, which I've always loved for gaming, but I needed more desktop real estate for videos, graphics, and general office work. I went with a dual-display setup: one monitor that's more focused on gaming and this Dell monitor for everything else. From that point of view it was exceptional - 4K with beautiful and accurate colours, reasonable brightness (unless you really need HDR tonality) for day and night use and beautiful bezels. When I use it to edit videos and documents, I'm very happy with it, except at night when even a fairly dim lamp casts a noticeable haze on the screen about twenty meters away from me. I got by with that for the most part, although my old ASUS is black and matte and the difference is silly. Also, there are small patches of uneven glow around the edges when I view the screen as completely black, but this is unnoticeable in normal use. For video editing, this is usually more than adequate and probably as good as many of the options I've looked at in weeks, but unlike some, the text and overall usage looks fantastic, which I appreciate given the amount of text I use search for. As a side note, the quick menu joystick is uninspiring and offers easy presets between color spaces, but when I want to change the brightness (e.g. from day to night) it's awkward. It's not a gaming monitor, I'll note, although I'm not overly opposed to it as it's not the monitor I use for it. I was hoping to be able to play games like RTS or City Management that don't rely on fast-paced playstyles in 4K to at least look great, but once there's movement the halos become obvious and unwieldy, spoiling the usefulness of the resolution. I've tried a few FPS games on it and will say I wouldn't try it further - although maybe I'm just used to the faster screen refresh and that limits the regular 60Hz's appeal. But then again, this isn't a game. Monitor. For office use (despite reflections) and video or visual editing (unless you rely on HDR, which few monitors in this class display accurately), it's hard to go wrong with this monitor, and it has these handled to my satisfaction and productive ease. Despite the many other options I chose this one from, I have no regrets and use it comfortably every day.
