I received this HDMI cable for a specific purpose and I no longer need to use it because the HDMI port is getting too hot. Here's what: I need to send the video signal from my Dell XPS 9130 laptop to an ATEM Mini A/V Switcher. I tried it once and after using it, I touched the HDMI port connected to the ATEM Mini and found it was too hot to touch. It seems unsafe so I stopped using it. Is the laptop to blame? Switch? Cable? I don't know, but whatever it is, I have no intention of trying that combination again. I'd like to add that I've been using the Switch for almost a year with no such overheating issues when used with other input sources. Also, I've used this laptop and a USB-C "dock" with HDMI output (using a standard HDMI cable) and haven't encountered any overheating issues. Don't try to blame the cable here, but be aware that this can be problematic in some use cases.
