I only bought this because it was returnable / I didn't quite believe the claims. Maybe it's the addition of ice cubes/chips, but it actually blows cold air/it's not just a fan. I find it awesome to use in a small area. No, it doesn't cool an entire room like an 8000 BTU air conditioner. But it also doesn't cost $300 and I can hang it in my van when I want to sleep with my 3 dogs instead of paying the hotel $50 per dog per night! The strap is actually leather, not plastic.
