Review on Enhanced Cat Scratch Guard Furniture Protectors - Real User Feedback - Cherish Your Furniture and Your Feline Companion! by Stacy Jackson

The concept is good for protecting your furniture, but . . . . .

I recently bought new furniture and I have cats. Well, the two don't go hand in hand as cats love to scratch furniture corners. So I found these cat scratch guards and decided to try them. Well they seem to help but I found the knobs that come with plastic protectors to be difficult to screw in. You can't nail them down as the screws on the knobs will go flat and you won't be able to get the spool out. They just don't seem long enough to actually grip the fabric and wood. I'll try using nails for the upholstery and see if that makes the plastic safer because when my cat started scratching he pulled on the plastic. Not exactly what I wanted. Also, only 6 screws are provided and you need a lot more to fix the plastic to the furniture. The quality of the plastic is good for the protection but a bit pricey as you only get two pieces of plastic plus 6 screws each. Package. I went to a local fabric store and bought a 1/4 yard of the same thickness of plastic, used one of the guards as a pattern and made my own for a fraction of the cost. The overall concept of the Guards is good, but the price is too high for something do-it-yourself and the fact that the screws aren't long enough and you have to get creative to make them work are the reasons I gave the Guards three stars . I would give 2 1/2 stars if I could. I'm sorry.
