Review on Viborg LP628B Record Weight Black 60HZ 280G LP Disc Stabilizer Turntable Level Vinyl Clamp HiFi (60Hz by David Alvarez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Mislabelled Flash

This item is good overall and works well for its intended purpose. The bubble level is an added bonus. I'm only giving it 4 stars because the flash markings are completely wrong. Each label set is labeled "60-33" and "60-45". One might assume that 60 means use with a mains powered strobe in a country with a mains frequency of 60 Hz (like USA and Canada). They are actually advertised as 60Hz on Revain. After tests with other devices, I suspect that the marking actually applies to countries with a 50Hz grid (e.g. England, Europe, etc.). I've compared it to a 50Hz strobe disc I have and even that doesn't match exactly, although it's a lot closer. I bought two of these which I'll probably keep as I said they do their main job well. If the manufacturer wants to exchange them for correctly marked devices, I'm happy to exchange them. Otherwise I could remove the marks with some kind of solvent so they don't get mixed up. I've since found that the strobe marks sync correctly when the line frequency is 53Hz. No country I can find uses a 53Hz network frequency. All of them are either 50 or 60 Hertz. By the way, I'm a retired audio engineer.
