High quality product designed to last. Extremely flexible yet strong when all knobs are tightened. Suitable for my Nikon Speedlight m. Remote control cable is ok. I had to buy an Arca-Swiss compatible base plate to attach the mount to my camera or 200mm macro lens. This accessory was not expensive. Another plus point: when all connections are loosened, the mount folds up relatively compactly and doesn't take up much space in my camera bag. I tested it at home but not in the field. I expect it to hold up very well in rough conditions. I may update this review when I have more time to play around with the F-2. At the moment I am a satisfied customer. Update: I've used this mount several times in the field. It is very easy to use, flexible and durable. It's also quite difficult. I usually attach a tripod to a 200mm lens and an F-2 to the camera. When the F-2 is extended, it feels like it's pressing hard on the baseplate and mounting hole on the bottom of the camera. Sometimes the plate rotates a little when I adjust the shackle, even though it's screwed tight. I think this can be avoided by completely detaching the F-2 segments before moving them. My usual method is to leave some tension in the joints, and light friction helps me make small adjustments. The freer the better. The combination of camera, large lens, mount and flash is quite heavy. I didn't like handheld photography, although I'd seen other people on the internet using it that way. For now I prefer to support it with a tripod or monopod. None of these issues are the deciding factor. F-2 is still the best mount for my purposes.
