A bit of history on this: Bought to fit a stuffing box and Locknut to use on a marine propeller shaft. The location of the nut is difficult to get to and the offset handle helps a lot in solving the problem.Several blogs suggested this tool rather than the under counter adjustable wrench which is the more common tool for the job was which I had two of - neither of them could keep their claws down to the size of nuts so it was quite frustrating to use. This tool was fine as it is the specified width --- 1 7/8 inches. It would take two, but in a rush to get it, I ordered another similar tool from a different supplier - a tool called the Skinny Fan Clutch Wrench, which is uber Lately used on Ford vehicles. The clutch wrench is a straight handle and can and has been used successfully in the application. I only gave the Stanley 3 stars because I'm not sure which tool I actually used the wrong size, although both are rated 1 7/8 - the fan clutch wrench fits both nuts but the Stanley just fits one of the nuts. - although both nuts are the same size and style. There's no caliper to test this, but the guess is that Stanley wasn't exactly 1 7/8.
