I bought two MD70 presenters to replace the bottom felt on my Ride & Crash cymbal stands for lower volume performances (jazz/adult contemporary music). It reduced volume/sustain and some brightness (by about 10-15%) so I could play comfortably in a small to medium sized hall with hard walls/commercial glass windows and a cement floor. I play the Paiste Traditional series (14HH, 16 Crash and 20 Ride). They sound complex and dark, but still have a treble brightness like all Paiste cymbals. *Easier playing with maple drumsticks is the key to musical IMHOP with lower volume. I also used the MD70 moderator in the same way to tame the volume and harmonics on my 20" Paiste Sound Creation Bell Ride so it wouldn't overwhelm other cymbals and drums. Worth the coins if you want to tame the cymbal sound a bit!
