I bought most of my jogging shorts 8-9 years ago at a brick and morter store based in Bentonville, AR, but wish I had bought more since they're constantly changing the styles. Nowadays, all men can buy are dresses/skirts that come to your knees. I lived through the 70s and 80s when shorts were actually short, not this knicker-length crap they sell today. Don't want shorts hitting my knees or anywhere closer to it. The whole idea is absurd. I'm not embarrassed of my thighs. #won'twearit.So it was nice to find some 5" shorts on ebay. These feel like a swimming suit, and with the mesh brief liner, I think you could wear them as a swimsuit. Pocket holds my Galaxy S9 cellphone easily, so that's great. Drawstring tie could be a little longer, but it will work if I don't get the string lost in the string tunnel. Tried them on and they were comfy. Will be interesting to take them for a test spin on a jog. Will update my review soon if there are any issues, but I expect they will be fine.UPDATE: Just had my first workout in these. Keeping 4 star review. Very, very light, which is a slight plus. However, running with cellphone in pocket more noticeable due to lightness of shorts. But I got used to that and it is not a deal-breaker. Also a bit odd running with a mesh liner rather than my usual briefs, but hey, if chicks can free the tatas, we can free willy, right?
