Weak bluetooth, auto shut off, poor volume control design

Bluetooth on this device is too weak. When connected to any Bluetooth source, the music will choppy after 30 feet with no obstacles. If I go in where there is a glass door between the amp and the source, I can't get more than 20 feet. If I go behind a wall it's more like 10 feet of broken music. The volume control is freely rotatable, so the volume is best controlled by the source. On my phone and laptop the volume is controlled at the source, the problem is it's hard to tell when you're at max. The amplifier turns off after 10 minutes of inactivity. The real inconvenience is when you have to stop the music to do something and then it cuts out. Now you need to go back to the amp to turn it back on. 16 gauge wire works well. First I tried 12 gauge wire and it was too thick to fit in the clamps. I will replace this device with something else as soon as it dies. It's hooked up externally to street speakers at the moment, and at this price I don't care if it gets wet or dies.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Something is wrong
